1. How To Submit
1.1. A few rules
Free Event Submission Rules
Please keep in mind the following guidelines when submitting an event/activity for consideration:
1. The event/activity should be free and take place in the Hudson Valley or Catskills area. It can be a physical or virtual event based in one of the following counties: Albany, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Saratoga, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester.
1a. The organizer must be in the Hudson Valley if the event is virtual.
2. Hudson Valley Sojourner reserves the right to reject any submission that does not meet our criteria or that we consider inappropriate for our platform. We encourage you to carefully consider your submission to ensure it aligns with our guidelines.
3. Political events will not be considered.
4. Events promoting hate or violence will not be considered.
5. Events related to weapons will not be considered.
6. Please ensure your event is submitted at least two weeks before the event date. This is crucial to allow enough time for the event information to propagate on the web and ensure maximum visibility for your event.
1.2. Completing the form
How To Complete and Submit The Event Form
- Go to the Submission Form (click the link below).
- Enter your name and email address in the fields.
- In the Dropdown, select the type of event, Physical or Virtual.
- You will be presented with the appropriate form.
- All fields in Green are mandatory fields.
- About "Event Appropriate For - List Groups" field- This field requires entering the name of the Group(s) who are the event target audiences(s). You can list as many as you like with descriptors separated by a comma and space.
Example: All ages, Families, Kids, Tweens, Adults, Seniors, LGBTIQA+, Students.
If your event is open to everyone, "All ages" will work well. - Upload a supporting image if you have one (not mandatory, but helpful.
- Answer the security question and Submit the form.
Just so you know, you will be notified by email when your event is posted and given a link to the online event page, ensuring you are always in the loop.
